Paying attention to reviews

When you are going to watch a TV Series or Movie, do you check out the reviews?
I take them with a grain of salt. I normally don’t like to look at the reviews until I have given the Series or Movie a chance.

I use the IMBD user reviews and google reviews over the critic reviews. I feel like they give a better idea of the actual rating.
 
I don't. I don't think the reviews are always right, but sometimes they are. Well, some movies, like Cabin Boy, were funny, but critics hated it. Anyone know more like that?
